At 202 North Rose, Club Zorba was a dash of spice to old downtown life and a thorn in the side of the city fathers.  Zorba battled a string of vice lawsuits with the city in the 1970s, and was damaged by arson in 1980.  But the business kept on as the King's Inn in 1981 and eventually the Mermaid Lounge. It closed in the summer of 1990 due to the Arcadia Creek redevelopment project, and moved to Ravine road under different ownership.  The site is now part of KVCC.  Click on the thumbnails below to view its various iterations, including the original Zorba sign which was revealed during final demolition in the early 1990s.
