
On the former site of the Art Post Rambler car dealership, the small hapless Rax chain
set up shop at 711 W. Michigan Avenue in the early 80s. First known nationally as
Jax, then Rix, then Rax, the company fell into bankruptcy in the late 80s.There are
still a few left in Ohio if, as the slogan said, you "gotta
get back to Rax." The building, having undergone
significant additions, is now the "Up & Under" sports bar. Note that
the Bunca Car Wash was a Boron gas station at that time.
