PROCO makes the finest "audio/video interconnect products," in other words cables that seem to last forever.  This building at 135 E. Kalamazoo Ave. was originally a dance hall and later housed an ice distributor.  Proco started up in 1974 and in 1991 moved into the old building that was recently razed. .Creaky even when the company started in 1974, the manufacturing facility at 135 E. Kalamazoo Avenue was recently razed.  I always enjoyed seeing the employees taking their breaks in the doorway, sitting on giant old cable spools. PROCO is now housed in the Gibson plant at 225 Parsons Street that dates from 1917.
