From 1948 to 2002, Bill Knapp's served delicious food across the Midwest. In the 1990s they foolishly tampered with their decor and menu aimed at Middle Class, Middle-Aged (and much older!), Midwestern America. They failed to attract new younger customers, and drove away their once-loyal clientele. No more steakburgers in a basket, au gratin potatoes, bean soup, or free birthday cake.  Kalamazoo lost locations on West Main and Portage. Check out these fun videos:  A Knapp's TV Commercial HERE, a birthday party at Knapp's HERE, and another birthday party HERE
