Today the BACK DOOR is a vacant lot down the way from Olde Peninsula on Portage street.  Imagine, from this 1972 advertisement, the "psychodelic"  "happenings" that must have happened there, and what "The Sunshine" must have sounded like.  It eventually ended up with a reputation as a pretty tough bar where a bottle of Stroh's stood a 50-50 chance of being either sipped or thrown at someone.
